# Axon > Axon is a local-first desktop API client for macOS, Windows and Linux. It sends and debugs HTTP/REST, GraphQL, gRPC, WebSocket, Socket.IO, SOAP, SSE, MQTT and MCP requests from one window. Collections, history and secrets stay on the user's device; teams sync peer-to-peer over LAN or VPN instead of a cloud workspace. No account is required. Key facts: - Platforms: macOS, Windows, Linux (native app built with Rust and Tauri 2) - Protocols: HTTP/REST, GraphQL (queries, mutations, subscriptions), gRPC (unary, streaming, server reflection, TLS), WebSocket, Socket.IO, SOAP (WSDL), Server-Sent Events, MQTT, MCP (STDIO and HTTP) - Auth: Basic, Bearer, API key, JWT (HS*), OAuth 2.0, Digest, AWS Signature v4, inherited from parent folder - Testing: pre-request and post-response JavaScript scripts, assertion tests, schema validation - Automation: collection runner (iterations, CSV/JSON data files, parallelism) and the `axon` CLI with HTML, JUnit XML, JSON, Markdown and SARIF reports - Built in: local mock servers, scheduled monitors with alerts, webhooks, console, terminal, full-text search, command palette (Cmd+K) - AI assistant: drafts requests, scripts and tests via the Claude Code CLI or a local Ollama model; no API key stored in Axon; data is sent only when the user sends a message - Import: Postman, Insomnia, Bruno, OpenAPI, HAR, curl. Export: Axon JSON/YAML, Markdown and HTML docs - Privacy: no account, no analytics, no crash reporter; on its own Axon only checks GitHub for updates at launch (can be disabled) and, with a paid license, revalidates the key daily - Pricing: free for teams of up to 3 members; $10/month flat for 4–8 members; $30/month flat for 9–15 members; Enterprise for 16+ (see pricing.md) ## Pages - [Home](https://axon.app/): Product overview, protocols, features, team sync, privacy summary, pricing and FAQ - [Pricing](https://axon.app/pricing.md): Plans, prices, seats and limits in Markdown - [Docs](https://axon.app/docs.html): Guides for protocols, workspace tools and team sync - [Install](https://axon.app/docs.html#install): Downloads, first launch, updates, building from source - [Variables](https://axon.app/docs.html#variables): Scopes and precedence, environments, globals, the vault, dynamic variables - [Scripting & tests](https://axon.app/docs.html#scripting): The pm.* API and chai-style assertions - [Runner & CLI](https://axon.app/docs.html#runner): Collection runner and every `axon run` option - [Mock servers, monitors, webhooks](https://axon.app/docs.html#services): Blueprints, stateful CRUD, alert rules - [AI assistant](https://axon.app/docs.html#ai): Providers, tool calls, multi-step tasks - [Team sync](https://axon.app/docs.html#team-sync): Pairing, remote members, keys and revocation, identity backup - [Work with Git](https://axon.app/docs.html#git): Mirror collections to YAML and commit, pull, push - [Keyboard shortcuts](https://axon.app/docs.html#shortcuts): Default map and rebinding - [Changelog](https://axon.app/changelog.html): Release notes, newest first - [Privacy policy](https://axon.app/privacy.html): What data leaves the device, and when ## Optional - [Downloads](https://github.com/faithdevss/axon/releases/latest): Installers for macOS, Windows and Linux - [Source](https://github.com/faithdevss/axon): GitHub repository
