What's new in Axon.

Every new feature, improvement and fix, newest first. Axon is pre-alpha and ships continuously; months marked In development are on the main branch and land in the next release.

In development

Git sync and a rebuilt Collection Runner

Commit your collections next to your code, run them on a schedule or from CI, and work with every protocol from the same request-style tab.

  • NEWWork with Git. Link a folder and Axon mirrors collections and environments to YAML under axon/, then commits, pulls and pushes through your system git. Secrets are never written.
  • NEWCollection Runner. Run order, Mock and Results tabs; run locally, on a schedule, with the Axon CLI or from CI/CD; iteration data, persisted responses, kept variable values, cookie options and a mock base URL.
  • NEWMonitors. Several monitors per workspace, minute, hour and week timers in local time, run now, retry on failure, timeouts, iteration data and an in-app toast when a run fails.
  • NEWRequest-style tabs for GraphQL, gRPC, WebSocket, MQTT, Socket.IO and MCP; SSE and SOAP move onto the same shell.
  • NEWAuthorization tab for WebSocket and for MCP over HTTP.
  • NEWSearch across all workspaces from the top bar.
  • NEWThe AI assistant can create and run protocol connections, start mock servers and manage monitors, and works through a task in steps.
  • NEWEnvironment page with fork, share as JSON or link, and inline rename. Workspaces page with search, sort, stars and bulk delete.
  • NEWSettings: HTTP version, max response size, TLS key log, autosave and swappable sidebars; a system, environment or custom proxy with auth and a bypass list.
  • NEWSettings → Update can turn off the launch-time update check.
  • IMPROVED{{variables}} now resolve in every protocol, in form-data and binary bodies, and in OAuth grants.
  • IMPROVEDSend, the Runner, Monitors and the CLI share one transport and preparation path, so a request behaves the same everywhere.
  • IMPROVEDShortcut labels follow your bindings, and native menu accelerators are first-class commands.
  • IMPROVEDSecurity and robustness hardening across the app and its crates.
  • FIXEDgRPC calls can be cancelled.
  • FIXEDProtocol sessions no longer leak; connect and disconnect behave the same in every protocol; MQTT topics stay in sync.
  • FIXEDProtocol tabs track unsaved changes, and deleting a connection closes its open tab.
  • FIXEDTeam sync: re-mirroring a workspace with a team key is a no-op, and projection is atomic.
  • FIXEDEvery settings toggle does what it says.

Stateful mock servers and a new design system

Mock servers grow a real CRUD and token-auth layer, and Axon gets its own icon, palette and themes.

  • NEWStateful mock servers. In-memory CRUD resources and register, login, refresh and logout endpoints, with a live request log in the terminal drawer.
  • NEWMock servers, monitors and webhook receivers open as tabs.
  • NEWSectioned in-app documentation with a filterable rail, rewritten as walkthroughs.
  • NEWThe Axon design system: new app icon, palette and themes, with thin theme-coloured scrollbars.
  • NEWAXON_SECRET_STORE=memory skips the OS keyring — useful in CI and containers.
  • IMPROVEDRedesigned Team sheet and search results.
  • IMPROVEDUpgraded to Vite 8, TypeScript 7, Tailwind 4 and Monaco 0.56, and updated every Rust crate.
  • FIXEDThe runner's delay is spaced between requests, not between iterations.
  • FIXEDCollection monitors save correctly and latency alerts reload.
  • FIXEDEach dynamic gRPC proto compile gets its own temporary directory.
  • FIXED⌘C copies any live text selection.
  • FIXEDThe Details disclosure on a send error is visible again.

Team sync beyond the LAN

Version 0.24.0, then remote team members, portable identities and licensing.

  • NEWJoin a remote host by address, so teammates off your network can sync over a VPN.
  • NEWBack up and restore your device identity across machines.
  • NEWPlans and license keys, verified offline-first with a 14-day grace period.
  • NEWIn-app getting-started guide, with Docs and Developer Info in the app menu.
  • NEWWindows installer builds.
  • IMPROVEDSettings reads the app version from the binary.

An AI assistant with no API keys

The assistant runs through AI tools you already have installed, and the request panel gets a Postman-style overhaul.

  • NEWAI assistant. Agent chat that proposes tool calls you review and apply in one batch.
  • NEWAI requests run through locally installed CLIs, so Axon stores no API keys.
  • NEWCustomizable keyboard shortcuts and context-aware copy.
  • NEWPostman-style request and auth panels, with an auto-generated headers preview.
  • NEWDynamic variables such as {{$randomUUID}}, plus HTTP client pooling and retry, and MQTT lifecycle events.
  • NEWAxon-native collection import and export that round-trips.
  • IMPROVEDTheme and typography overhaul; hardened network surfaces.
  • FIXEDJoining a LAN peer; restored header switchers and environment-variable saves.

Team LAN sync and workspaces

  • NEWTeam sync over the local network, and a workspaces manager.
  • NEWInbound webhook receivers.
  • NEWMonitors can target a collection with an environment.
  • IMPROVEDFaster runner, with drag-to-reorder.
  • FIXEDDeleting a workspace cascades correctly, using in-app prompts.

First build

  • NEWThe first build of Axon: requests, collections and environments, with an end-to-end test suite from day one.
